Fine Arts College Night: Key Resources for More Information

The most important resources are both your private and school teachers. Those who are guiding you through your art growth are your first stop in this process. Your school guidance counselor will also be helpful since most of the schools will require a regular application as well as an arts application. Other places to get information and lists from are:

ARTS-ACCREDIT.ORG is a central arts accreditation association. From their central page you can access any of the following four associations:
National Association of Schools of Music,
National Association of Schools of Art and Design,
National Association of Schools of Theater, and the
National Association of Schools of Dance.
COLLEGE BOARD The College Board is a not-for-profit membership association whose mission is to connect students to college success and opportunity. Founded in 1900, the College Board is composed of more than 5,700 schools, colleges, universities and other educational organizations. Each year, the College Board serves seven million students and their parents, 23,000 high schools, and 3,800 colleges through major programs and services in college readiness, college admission, guidance, assessment, financial aid, enrollment, and teaching and learning. Among its best-known programs are the SAT®, the PSAT/NMSQT® and the Advanced Placement Program® (AP®). The College Board is committed to the principles of excellence and equity, and that commitment is embodied in all of its programs, services, activities and concerns.

This organization also produces Dramatics magazine which publishes an annual Theater college list available for purchase from their website. Orders for the 2011 College Theatre Directory will be filled beginning in late November, 2010

NATIONAL ASSOCIATION OF COLLEGE ADMISSIONS COUNSELING, sponsors of the annual PERFORMING AND VISUAL ARTS COLLEGE FAIR, Lists of Performing and Visual Arts Colleges are available on this site. This year the fair is SUNDAY, OCTOBER 31, D.C Convention Center.
